Synchro's New Pi.1 Release Circulates among 4D BIM Leaders

On 26 April, Synchro Client and Server v3.1415.1 or Pi.1 was delivered as the latest version of its award-winning, 4D Planning Application.

Synchro Pi.1 offers several new features to enhance our users' experience for 4D construction simulation, systems interoperability, constraint mitigation, risk minimization, improved presentation, ease of use and BIM for delivery capabilities.

Synchro's Global User Group has driven timely and decisive feedback into Synchro's product development agenda. Their insight and guidance have fortified Synchro's product line, once again, in this new release.

Synchro's BIM for Delivery Platform development will continue to focus on advanced data management to support our users' abilities to Explore, Analyse, Collaborate, Present and Manage projects in the demanding arena of BIM for Delivery.

Here are the highlights and specific enhancements in Pi.1:

Common Functionality:

· Users have the option to choose a 3D-driver (OpenGL, DirectX, OpenGL2) for various visual enhancements

· You may generate a series of JPEG still-images in addition to the AVI

· You may derive subtasks from tasks with their assigned codes

· We've added new task types for Delay and Weather Delay

· You may add to the estimate the finish time for 'in progress' tasks

· User-defined fields (in readable mode for imported IFC and MS Project XML projects)

· You may now import Catia files on x64

· We now support Asta Powerproject version 11

· We offer import support for CSS's estimating system Candy generated XML

3D Object Subdivision:

· Object subdivision by orthogonal, non-uniform mesh

· Free-hand subdivision by crossed and closed poly-lines,

· We showing the cutting plan during free-hand subdivision,

· We also show associated objects for context directly in subdivision window

Auto-matching:

· Pi.1 brings you an enhanced matching operation both by activity codes and user fields

· There are now advanced algorithms for string matching (longest common subsequence, separators)

· Assignment of use profile during matching operation

Interoperability:

· We have improved our IFC support for spaces, colors, properties and quantities.

· Further, we improved IFC interoperability by using EU InPro Profile for time units, visual parameters/use profiles.

· You may export more easily Synchro project data (tasks, links, resources, assignments and costs) to MS Excel

· You may also export Earned Value Analysis results to MS Excel

· Performance has been increased for integration sessions (import/re-import) with planning systems

· We facilitate interoperability in supporting ASTA Powerproject version 11

· We improved the diagnostics for Primavera integration.

GUI Improvements:

· You may now employ our Use Profile/Company legend for 3D views

· You may make markers on Gantt to display tasks with assigned 3D resources

· Our new Task View columns can present planned duration, upstream float, downstream float and 3D

· You can expect more Excel-like operating behavior in Task View ID and Name columns

· You may show the critical path for the Gantt chart by different line styles

· Cost Totals Improvement now display in Task Properties

· Menus show recently used commands as an improvement

· We split links to "predecessors" and "successors" groups in the Task Properties tab

· The number of selected 3D objects is shown in the Status Bar.

Gilbane and Others Sign Corporate Licensing Agreements with Synchro
We're pleased to announce that Gilbane Building Company has gained 4D process standardisation and economies of scale by adopting a three-year agreement with Synchro.

The Synchro Three-Year Agreement provides for unlimited number of users across all Synchro license types within their operations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico in a three-year Corporate License Agreement.

These Corporate Account Users achieve universal enterprise standardisation for 4D Planning and Scheduling along with flexible Corporate Licensing and economies of scale in their user licensing unit costs.

Synchro Short-Lists for Coventry Telegraph Business Award

Synchro has been chosen as one the three finalists for the International Trade Award and the awards presentation dinner is due to take place on Tuesday 11^th May at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

A camera crew is visiting our headquarters at the Design Hub of Coventry University Technology Park to shoot a video profile of Synchro. The video will be presented at one of the most prestigious business events of the year, attended by the top people in the region's business community and senior executives of the principal organisations in the area.

This new distinction for Synchro in the UK follows a high commendation awarded in the prior quarter at the ICT Excellence Awards in the category for Best Innovative Product for Synchro Professional.
