Synchro 3.14 Is Now Available

Synchro 3.14
On 15 June, Synchro released Version 3.14 of its products designed to provide 4D BIM, construction simulation modeling, enhanced 4D spatial coordination and project management capabilities to users worldwide in the project delivery team.

Synchro 3.14 offers important new features that take Synchro and our users to the next level of 4D construction simulation, systems interoperability and BIM for delivery capabilities.

IFC Synchronisation Facilities include full round-trip data integration with IFC compatible systems through our new import, export, synchroniseTo, and SynchroniseFrom capabilities. The drive for application interoperability has been industry driven for many years and Synchro has now joined the ranks with many BIM applications compliant with emerging IAI IFC standard and buildingSmart trend http://www.iai-international.org/.

In particular, extensive testing was carried out with ArchiCad and Solibri. User requirements and schema refinements were agreed with key partners on the InPro Consortium -- an industry-led European project aiming at Knowledge-based Collaborative Processes throughout the Lifecycle of a Building http://www.inpro-project.eu/.

The exchanged and shared information covers key AEC elements, geometry representations and scheduling information for three IFC schema revisions: IFC2x, IFC2x2, IFC2x3. Other schema entities will be supported in future developments, as users begin practical working.

4D Spatial Coordination and Management
provide 4D clash tests against the planned delivery approach and offer a significant advancement to design clash detection alone.

NetPoint Import Facility has been added to work seamlessly from the exciting work being done in the Graphical Planning Method (GPM) arena by the international consulting group, PMA Consultants, led by Dr. Gui Ponce de Leon, CEO of PMA Technologies in Chicago http://www.pmatechnologies.com/

"Both NetPoint and Synchro are on the leading edge of some major shifts in the AEC industry and I'm looking forward to the next few years!" said Timothy Deane Mather, CTO of PMA Technologies.

Primavera and Asta enhanced synchronisation and semantic interoperability enhancements will be valued by the Synchro users worldwide who rely upon these world class scheduling systems to manage their enterprise data and project scheduling.

Most importantly, we finish Alpha testing and begin Beta testing our Object Oriented Database Module with a select few of our most advanced users in preparation for the general release of the module later this year. The module will provide significant improvements in the underlying infrastructure of the application:

  • The ability to handle super-sized BIM model geometry and delivery data property sets
  • Full flexibility of database to database interfaces, whether the data exchange is with another application or a corporate data store.

The ease and flexibility in a data-centric architecture will be unmatched in the market, upon its release. We invite you to request a 10-day, free trial period license of Synchro 3.14.
