Synchro Professional

product image

The Synchro Professional Pi Release provides complete construction visualisation, project scheduling, advanced risk management, synchronisation with design changes, supply chain management and cost allocation for comprehensive, virtual construction simulation.

Synchro Professional Pi enables consideration of alternative scheduling options, resource allocation, and time and cost savings to be evaluated.

Use Synchro Professional Pi to define and communicate to your entire construction project delivery team what, when and where work is occurring on your project.

Synchro Professional Pi can work either standalone – managing the project model independently – or in combination with Synchro Server in managing collaborative access to a centralised project model.

Here is a brief movie clip on YouTube that you may want to view as an introduction to the capabilities of Synchro.

To gain a better sense, you can preview this brief YouTube movie clip on 4D BIM for Delivery.

Where is Synchro Professional at work and how?

For a more detailed Training view, we offer this Self-Taught Tutorial for Synchro 3.11.

We provide a User Manual, including comprehensive help files and a downloadable, self-taught tutorial with sample 3D and scheduling files.

We invite you to request a 10-day, free trial license of the latest version of Synchro.

More Information
Functionality Planning

Synchro provides a full range of planning features:
  • Task status control Task sequencing options
  • Resource management
  • Multiple baselines to compare actual performance against your plan
  • Progress tracking
  • Rescheduling options
  • Critical path analysis.

Synchro can create risk buffers for chains of activities to protect the critical path and avoid unnecessary rescheduling as well as reduce or mitigate identified risks.

Design

Synchro resource management includes the 3D representation of material, equipment, human and space resources. The planning process can now also effectively manage task locations. Moreover, these resource representations can be synchronised with revised CAD data, as it becomes available.

Cost

Resources and tasks can be assigned fixed or variable costs, which are then displayed for selected individual or a hierarchical range of tasks, and are reported for Earned Value Analysis.

Communication

80% of all we perceive is visual: Synchro exploits the power of visualisation. Synchro significantly enhances the task sequencing of the Gantt Chart with vivid time-based 3D views of the corresponding solid model at the same point in time.

Multiple 3D views can be presented for clarity and each can be modified interactively. This means you can improve the delivery of projects through a better understanding of site conditions and the implications of logistical plans. You can visualise and evaluate the impact of alternative construction sequences and avoid conflicts in assigned work locations.

Use Synchro to clarify and agree on proposed schedules with the entire delivery team, and interested parties, by sharing video simulations generated from the 3D views.

Interoperability

Import and export project schedules in Microsoft Office Project Standard XML file format, and import, export and synchronize with Primavera™ and Asta Powerproject.

Import and synchronize with DWF, DWG, HSF, CATIA V5, SolidWorks formats and Google SketchUp. Import from Bentley MicroStation™ and 3D Studio Max™ via an HSF export plug-in.

Activity costs can be imported and a range of actual cost data can be accommodated through customised file interfaces.

Reporting

Generate clear and unambiguous documentation for presentations of tenders and proposals, site team meetings and management review via:

  • Task list and Gantt Chart
  • 3D views, optionally red-lined
  • Resource and task usage
  • Earned Value Analysis
  • Line of Balance view
  • Audio and Video AVI output
Deployment
  • Synchro Professional can create and modify standalone/local project files.
  • In combination with Synchro Server, Synchro Professional can also provide concurrent access to a shared project model to enable efficient and synchronised ongoing collaborative planning and problem solving.
  • Synchro can handle offline working, when there's a temporary network communications failure, and the submission of clashing instructions from multiple contributors like the modification of a task only just deleted by a previous transaction.
Synchronisation
  • Autodesk design file updates on import
  • Bentley design file updates on import
  • Primavera API import and export
  • Asta API import and export
  • Delivery team collaborative activities
  • Supply chain collaborative activities Synchro Express
